Hobonich 2022 Techo planner Cousin set with cover "Shinsuke Yoshitake: Today's Adventure" (japanese)
The extremely thin Tomoe River paper with 52gsm enables a 544-page daily calendar with a handy thickness of only 14mm. The robust thread binding allows the calendar to be opened flat so that double-sided writing is not an issue. Despite the thin material, the Tomoe River paper is characterized by high opacity, which greatly minimizes the shining through on the back page. The paper is not just suitable for pencil and ballpoint pens, but also amazingly ink-compatible. The overall high quality ensures that the daily calendar can be archived for decades to come even after a year of continuous use and can therefore be browsed again and again.
With different monthly overviews, the calendar offers one page per day with sufficient space for appointments and notes. Please note that the planner is printed in Japanese and the marked holidays apply only to Japan.
The cover made of high-quality cotton creates a robust feeling. The two pen loops also serve as a lock to prevent accidental opening. The cover features also two bookmarks, one with a triangular and one with a square tag in the cover material, in order to differentiate the current position in the daily calendar and monthly calendar. In addition, the inside of the cover has several compartments and slots for cards and notes.
Information from the manufacturer:
We asked children’s book author and illustrator Shinsuke Yoshitake to create this illustration for the Hobonichi Techo. Children consider even an average day to be full of adventure, and this design is to remind us to write about even our average days and cherish those moments. The cover illustrations are all selected with a focus on drawings of children, mainly from those printed on the bottom of the Hobonichi Techo 2022 Day-Free’s graph paper pages. There are 40 illustrations total on the A6 size Original cover. The natural-colored canvas material has been printed on with an inkjet printer. The interior pocket is printed with Shinsuke Yoshitake’s signature next to an illustration of a sitting baby. Opening your techo to meet the baby’s distant expression is sure to help you feel even more attached to your cover over time. Even before he wrote children’s books and held an office job, Shinsuke Yoshitake has always drawn things that stuck out to him or thoughts that crossed his mind into his techo. The Today’s Adventure cover is filled with a collection of small illustrations that came about as simple sketches. There are so many cute poses in the mix, with some looking bored and others staring off deep into space. These still drawings are so filled with Yoshitake’s artistic charm that you can almost see the characters move and hear them talk.
