Hobonichi 2022 Techo Cousin planner A5 Liberty Fabrics: Erica set
Hobonich 2022 Techo planner Cousin set with cover "Liberty Fabrics: Erica" (japanese)
The extremely thin Tomoe River paper with 52gsm enables a 544-page daily calendar with a handy thickness of only 14mm. The robust thread binding allows the calendar to be opened flat so that double-sided writing is not an issue. Despite the thin material, the Tomoe River paper is characterized by high opacity, which greatly minimizes the shining through on the back page. The paper is not just suitable for pencil and ballpoint pens, but also amazingly ink-compatible. The overall high quality ensures that the daily calendar can be archived for decades to come even after a year of continuous use and can therefore be browsed again and again.
With different monthly overviews, the calendar offers one page per day with sufficient space for appointments and notes. Please note that the planner is printed in Japanese and the marked holidays apply only to Japan.
The cover made of high-quality cotton creates a robust feeling. The two pen loops also serve as a lock to prevent accidental opening. The cover features also two bookmarks, one with a triangular and one with a square tag in the cover material, in order to differentiate the current position in the daily calendar and monthly calendar. In addition, the inside of the cover has several compartments and slots for cards and notes.
Information from the manufacturer:
This cover is made from a beautiful textile from the venerable fabric brand Liberty Fabrics. Erica is a textile that was created for Liberty Fabrics in 1969. It features small wildflowers with long stems, intertwined across the whole fabric. Interspersed among the blooming flowers are some buds that give the design a cute look. The black background makes the beauty of the flowers pop. This cover is made with Liberty Fabric’s own "Tana Lawn" material, a meticulously processed cotton fabric with a soft, silken feel that offers prints in vibrant colors. The cover interior uses a soft material that almost feels like cotton.
About Liberty Fabrics Liberty Fabrics is a fabric brand from England. Founded in 1875 by Arthur Lasenby Liberty (1843-1917), who discovered the beauty of Japanese art during a World’s Fair in London in the 19th century. The company originated as a small import shop with oriental ornaments and fabrics. The delicate silk and intricate hand-dyed art were praised by followers of the Aesthetic Movement, and in the 1880s, Liberty began printing high-quality cotton textiles as a way to recreate sturdy versions of the delicate Eastern silks. In the 1920s, Liberty developed their original “Tana Lawn” cotton material, which looks and feels like silk and has a lightweight structure that allows it to drape beautifully. Liberty has created intricate prints bursting with color and complex designs ever since.
