Hobonichi 2022 Techo Cousin planner A5 Minä Perhonen: Tambourine set

Hobonich 2022 Techo planner Cousin set with cover "Minä Perhonen: Tambourine" (japanese)

The extremely thin Tomoe River paper with 52gsm enables a 544-page daily calendar with a handy thickness of only 14mm. The robust thread binding allows the calendar to be opened flat so that double-sided writing is not an issue. Despite the thin material, the Tomoe River paper is characterized by high opacity, which greatly minimizes the shining through on the back page. The paper is not just suitable for pencil and ballpoint pens, but also amazingly ink-compatible. The overall high quality ensures that the daily calendar can be archived for decades to come even after a year of continuous use and can therefore be browsed again and again.

With different monthly overviews, the calendar offers one page per day with sufficient space for appointments and notes. Please note that the planner is printed in Japanese and the marked holidays apply only to Japan.

The cover made of high-quality linen creates a robust feeling. The two pen loops also serve as a lock to prevent accidental opening. The cover features also two bookmarks in the cover material, in order to differentiate the current position in the daily calendar and monthly calendar. In addition, the inside of the cover has several compartments and slots for cards and notes.

Information from the manufacturer:

minä perhonen creates timeless, all-original garment textiles that are specially dyed, embroidered, and woven to recreate hand-drawn designs.
Ever since it was born in 2000, “tambourine” is one of minä perhonen’s trademark designs. The pattern features small dots of embroidery arranged in a circle, reminiscent of a tambourine. Because the base of the embroidered dots is drawn by hand, each dot holds a different expression. The pattern conveys how imperfections are beautiful and there is not one same thing in this world. The “tambourine” design has appeared a few times in the past as Hobonichi Techos, but this time, we chose the classic navy and white color combination. The base fabric is a linen georgette that has an elegant sheen matched with the woven texture. Thick threads were roughly woven to create a supple texture.
The “butterfly-stopper” pen holders and cover interior are navy blue to match the textile. Two dotted lace bookmarks are attached.

About minä perhonen
minä perhonen is a fashion brand created by designer Akira Minagawa.
First founded in 1995 under the name minä, and renamed “minä perhonen” in 2003. In Finnish, “minä” means “I,” and “perhonen” means “butterfly,” expressing Minagawa’s hopes to create designs as light-hearted and beautiful as a butterfly’s flapping wings.
