Information vom Hersteller:
Keiko Shibata’s unique artwork has now become Hobonichi Techo covers. “Bread floating in the wind” is one of the works drawn in 2022 on the theme of “wind.” Black, yellow, and red cats ride on the bread, flying through the air. The cats move forward with the wind blowing directly before them, making their legs and tails perky. Where are they traveling to? The artwork is printed on a textured polyester fabric to bring out the warm touch of the oil pastel drawing. The cats are uniquely portrayed, from their facial expressions as they face the wind to the flow of their fur. Be sure to take a close look at the details, such as the wind’s flow, the bread’s texture, and the cats’ shadows. The color of the sky, painted in light blue with white and yellow, spreads over the entire surface of the cover as well as the “butterfly-stopper” pen holders. The card pockets on the inner cover are also printed in the beautiful color of the sky. The two bookmarks are in ivory and brown, inspired by the color of the bread. The soft synthetic leather is finished to a suede touch, and we kept the design simple, with no charms on it. On the left side pocket, you will find Keiko Shibata’s autograph printed.
